Writing:
This writing activity requires students to extract as much information as they can from the provided text, then use this information to plan a story, that must end with the initial text provided. In other words all the writing the students produce have to have the same ending, but the path they chose to get to that ending is entirely up to them. We find that by giving this task to students, they have to work really hard at planning their writing to ensure that the overall package makes sense, it also keeps the writing focused.
We have also included a narrative planner for this activity that has the final paragraph included as part of the planner. Obviously you can adapt the ending of the story to meet the needs of your the students in your class.
To use this resource, simply make a copy of this resource and rename it so that you become the owner of it then adapt it to meet the learning needs/intentions of your students/planning.
