Computational Thinking PO1

This activity is an example of how you can encourage computational thinking in your classroom without using computers.  This is the first activity in a series of non computerised computational thinking activities, aimed at helping teachers address PO1 of the new Digital Technologies curriculum. When we have done this activity in class we have found that the work done in this kind of activity provides a solid foundation for students to understand the importance of having clear unambiguous sequential instructions to make something work and be repeatable.  Once students have been exposed to a range of similar activities, they then find it easy to transition to work using tools such as turtle LOGO or even Scratch.
