Computational Thinking PO1
The series of simplified codes in this activity are a follow up from the unifix programming unit we posted earlier. The students have to look at the arrow codes and find where they think the error in the code is. They can do this by either checking using the scenario drawn on each slide or by using concrete materials in the form of their own 100 board, some unifix and maths teddies to physically check the problem. Either way, the students identify the error(s) by sliding the red rectangles over the top of the part of the code that they think is wrong. You can adapt this activity to include the students re-writing the code so that it becomes a successful bit of programming.
To use this resource, simply make a copy of this resource and rename it so that you become the owner of it then adapt it to meet the learning needs/intentions of your students/planning.
