Computational Thinking PO2
This activity is a CT PO2 activity. The majority of this activity is technology based, with the students collaboratively creating a cardboard stardome in their class. The purpose is for the students to investigate the constellations of Matariki and the southern skies. One of the links will take you to a star wheel with all the constellations of the southern skies identified in Te Reo. The students are to “adopt” a constellation and build a copy of it with LEDs and Copper tape to make a solderless circuit controlled by a cardboard switch.
The activity can then be extended with the inclusion of Makey Makey’s Micro:bits to give more control over the sequencing and effects of the stardome to the students lying inside.
