Computational Thinking PO3

This activity is a CT PO3 activity.  The support materials for this activity are more structured, but no definitive answers are provided, the students will still have to work out how to control the maze with servos.  The activity as far as coding is concerned is PO3 because of the use of comparative operators, iteration and the if blocks. This activity includes a lot of technology skills and could be integrated into the wider curriculum as a result.  This activity was adapted from an Arduino activity, which can be seen here. We have adapted it to work with the BBC Micro:Bit and the Adafruit Crickit as we felt that these devices would provide a broarder entry point for more students into this kind of challenge. Obviously if you have Aduinos in school and are confident to use them, then use the Arduino resource!

Here is the resource:

For teachers who want to see an example of an example of the code for this challenge, then you can see it here: Ball Bearing Maze code  However, this link should not be shared with your students as it would defeat the purpose!

To use this resource, simply make a copy of this resource and rename it so that you become the owner of it then adapt it to meet the learning needs/intentions of your students/planning.  If you want us to make more of this kind of resource please contact us at david@dakinane.com and we will make more resources to share with you, related to your need.
