Computational Thinking PO2 – unplugged

This activity is an unplugged activity. It is designed to help students understand how data is sent over the internet in binary packets of information, then once at the destination computer, recompiled into something recognisable, in this case simple black and white images. Doing this activity will cover the PO2 requirement that students “…understand that digital devices store data using just two states represented by binary digits (bits).”

If you are intersted in yours students working with binary data, we have created this Scratch project that converts binary numbers to base 10. You can find the project here:  Binary to base 10 converter
