Computational Thinking PO2

This activity is a series of e-textile challenges that get progressively more challenging and in-depth as the students progress through.  The first couple of activities would be ideal as an introductory activity for students as young as year 3, however, as the challenges progress, there is enough in this activity to engage and challenge year 8 students.  Indeed, this activity is intended to be a creative inspiration/catalyst for students to design and build their own e-textile products based on what they learn from these activities.  There is a minimal product list required of a teacher in order to allow this activity to happen in class.  All that a teacher would need would be Micro:Bits, LEDs, conductive thread, needles for sewing and some batteries to power the Micro:Bit away from the computer.

In our experience, students have loved the practical and digital elements of these activities and once they understand the concepts covered, their imaginations really run riot with the potential that e-textiles can offer to students.
